I am an avid wood worker who loves any kind of wood, especially creative wood that has character – the more the better. Burls, roots, twists, color, crazy grain… you name it, I’ll make something out of it. I grew up in Maine and love the state and the natural world it harbors. Come visit! Or, if you can’t, buy yourself or a friend a gift to bring a taste of Maine to you. Then relax, close your eyes, have a glass of your favorite wine, and go wherever you want to go!
ABOUT MY CLIMATE ART
My art is evolving quickly as my awareness of the world emerges from my early, blissful years as a backwoods artist. For 15 years, I happily carved flowers, rendering their lush, sexy shapes in wood. Now, every facet of my being is influenced by the advance of climate change. Flowers have become much more than breathless elegance. Now, by their mere existence, every petal represents to me nature’s struggle in a warming world. My art aspires to move viewers to play their part in engaging in sustainable cooperation with our natural world. We must collectively re-learn to respect that we need nature to sustain our economies and nourish our souls.

Welcome to La Luna Art Glass, where you’ll find fine quality kiln fired glass artwork as well as pendants, earrings, and bracelets. All my items are made by hand in my home studio. Pieces of dichroic and art glass are carefully arranged and layered, then placed in a kiln and heated to a melting temperature. The glass turns to a molten state and fuses together to form a colorful and unique design. The glass is then annealed and slowly cooled for strength and durability. Depending how the piece results, it may be shaped and trimmed, then put back in the kiln to fire-polish to a smooth finish.

Thank you for stopping by my page! During the winter months I paint original oil on canvas landscapes of local views from around my home in Maine, as well as views of my native Scotland. During the summer I sell my original oil paintings, pen & ink sketches, and prints of my work in three matted and ready-to-frame sizes, as well as note cards. I originally hand sign every matted print I make. I consider the interaction and input from meeting the public an essential and very enjoyable part of my art, and participate at various local venues throughout the summer and fall.

The information in the Allagash Tails Collection of books come directly from my personal experiences which reflect the history, legend and lore of our State. Our products are produced in Maine by Maine craftsmen. Our printer uses soy ink, recycled paper and wind power for publishing. Readers can depend that we offer products which can only be described as ‘classic Maine.’ Through our ‘New England Reads’ project we have now provided over 300 programs to over 10,000 students in Maine, NH and Vt.
