My lures are reproductions of antique patented wood fish lures created from about 1900 to 1950. This was the heyday for wood lures in the united states. Before 1900 there were no wood fish lures, they were mostly metal, glass or ceramic. By 1950 plastics had taken over and dominated the market. So that fifty year period was the golden age for wood fish lures. This was also a uniquely American experience and qualifies as an American art form. Pure Americana.
Each lure is turned on a wood lathe painted and assembled by the artist. The lure comes in a beautiful wood presentation box with a written history and a copy of the patent drawing.
As a gift for your favorite fisherman or collector these lures will inspire and create conversations for generations, an Heirloom Lure.
The perfect gift for your favorite fisherman.

I have been a Mainer all my life, even making my way back to the house I grew up in. This woodsy retreat is home base for Earth Metalworks. My studio in the woods is surrounded by tall pines, star filled skies, and an abundance of wildlife. Deer, fox, hawks and coyotes are right out my back door while being just a few miles from the ocean. I walk the beach almost daily, breathing in the salt air and always keeping an eye out for my seal friends and various sea birds. Mother Nature gifts us with some of the best inspiration.

Our most popular lines to date is our exclusive cork jewelry featuring bracelets, earrings, and necklaces which have been seen in multiple publications including the Portland Press Herald, Down East Magazine, and WMTW Channel 8. Here at Gem Lounge jewelry we are also known for our line of Maine Necklaces all created with recycled genuine metals. Within the last few years, we also started creating and carrying a line of durable, eco-friendly, and sustainable cork handbags and coin purses that are waterproof and easy to care for. We feel it’s important to limit the impact our business has on the world around us so we use recycled packaging and materials in all of our designs and use locally and American sourced materials whenever possible.
Our retail storefront along the shores of Sebago Lake, Gem Lounge Jewelry and Artisan Boutique, features all of these products as well as those from many woman owned Maine made companies. We also make our own line of wood wick soy candles, clothing, hats, custom laser gifts and wood signs.

We handcraft earrings, barrettes, pins, ornaments, pendants, bracelets, and napkin rings using purchased solid copper, brass, and nickel sheets and up-cycled aged copper roofing.
The sheets are cut to size, inserted into an in-house designed cutting die and placed in our hydraulic press for cutting. The cut pieces are trimmed, hammered, soldered, buffed and cleaned. Then packaged and taken to market.

We began to look for ideas to market Maine lobster in the summer of 2012 when the boat price for lobsters was very low. After watching dogs enjoy lobster the idea began to make a dog treat. “Lobster Treats for Salty Dogs” were created. Dogs love them! Lobster Treats for Salty Dogs are a home made treat with Maine lobster meat baked in. We use only human grade ingredients, no preservatives in our dog biscuits. Available regular or gluten free. We also make Blueberry Treats for Salty Dogs made with Maine Blueberries and Pumpkin Treats for Salty Dogs. Dog tested and approved!

At Four Winds Farm, I make anything fiber art related, from fine art wool pictures and wool sculptures to functional wool dryer balls. Somewhere in between art and function are felted soaps.
My felted goat milk soaps are a collaboration with Maine Made member Knotty Goat Soapery. Shea Rolnick makes high quality all natural soap using milk from her pet goats. I cover the soap with wool and felt pictures on them using wool from my sheep, rabbit and/or local alpaca and sheep farms including sustainable plant dyed fiber from Lana Plantae Farmed Yarns also a Maine Made member.
Whenever I have to out source materials I buy from other small farms and businesses in Maine. If I can’t get what I need in Maine, I buy from small businesses as local to Maine as possible.
