The Original Equine Protectavest offers High Visibility Blaze Orange horsewear for hunting season and riding safety and visibility for in-pasture use and under saddle for horses and riders.
Hunters are required by law to show a certain square footage of blaze orange for their safety and visibility during hunting season. This allows instant and easy identification that they are human (NOT a target). Domestic animals run the same risk during hunting season so we offer a line of blaze orange for their safety, easily identifying them as domestic. Because…
DEER DO NOT WEAR BLAZE ORANGE
Protectavest has been Made In Maine since production started in 1992. We are a small company offering old time product value and top notch customer service (ie: custom cuts available at no extra charge).
If it can be shot at we will cover it in blaze orange.

Jeweled Horizons

ss

For nearly twenty-five years I lived in countries in the developing world. After collecting authentic necklaces, I started collecting old beads and designing modern pieces. Every piece tells a story of travel, art, history and fashion.

Fresh Designs

ss

An eclectic collection of handmade jewelry inspired by the beauty of Maine. Materials include vintage beads, semi-precious stones, organic beads such as wood, shell, and bone, and metals including sterling silver, pewter, gold-filled, vermeil, virgin brass, and vintage tin. Styling ranges from updated traditional to inspired contemporary. Other products include hair jewelry (bobby pins, hair clips, barrettes, and combs) made from re-purposed vintage jewelry. Hand sewn flowers made from a variety of fabrics including hand-dyed Shibori silk, satin, tulle, feathers, ribbon and more! I also create “jewelry catches” — multi-tiered towers for stashing jewelry (or anything else you want); each one-of-a-kind design is made from vintage and contemporary pottery and china and embellished with unexpected distinctive and/or whimsical components.

Avena Botanicals

CRAFTED BY HAND
Everything we do is done by hand from seed planting to pouring our cremes to shipping our packages. Our hands keep us directly connected to serving plants, people, and our planet.

SIMPLICITY
We value simplicity and the traditional ways of hand-crafting herbal remedies. We use simple tools instead of noisy, mechanized machines — we do not mass-manufacture. The beauty and aroma of the plants we grow infuses our hearts and work environment on a daily basis.

BIODYNAMIC GARDENING
This holistic and spiritually alive system of organic agriculture enlivens our soil, water, and plants along with the soul, spirit, and consciousness of humans. Biodynamic preparations and practices create herbal remedies that heal body, mind, and spirit and connect individuals to the source of their sustenance.

CHEMICAL-FREE
Since our inception in 1985, we have used no chemicals, additives or solvents of any kind in our herbal remedies or in our farming practices. Our on-site production facility is free of toxic paints, finishes, and synthetic scents and we use only 100% biodegradable cleaning supplies.

ON-SITE MANUFACTURING
Avena’s remedies are produced on-site in our newly-built facility. Come visit us on a sunny summer day and you will delight in the baskets of fresh herbs coming inside from our gardens. It doesn’t get any more local than this.

SMALL BATCH SIZE
Creating gentle, organic, high-quality herbal remedies that heal is our goal. Producing our products in small batches ensures that their freshness and efficacy meet our high standards.

MugBuddyCookies, Inc.

ss

MugBuddyCookies specializes in handcrafted 3-D cookies that sit on a mug’s rim – a buddy for your mug! Our Mug Buddies inspire whimsy, spark imagination, and bring delight to everyone who has seen them.

Mug Buddies are available as miniature houses, flowers, butterflies, lobster traps, lighthouses, and more. Every cookie is made from scratch in our kitchen in small batches, using only the finest ingredients, locally sourced whenever possible. Our original recipes offer traditional flavors like gingerbread as well as gourmet options such lemon lavender and coconut lime. Each Mug Buddy is then decorated and assembled by one of our icing artists with the highest attention to quality and detail. Our greatest compliment is “They are almost too cute to eat!”. “Just wait until you taste them!” we respond. We received so many requests from our fans, we had to release Mug Buddy Bites – perfectly packaged bags of bite sized cookies available in all eight of our scrumptious flavors.

Mug Buddies are perfect for memorable gifts, souvenirs, events, favors, and “just because”!

Maine Wooden Buoys

ss

We make lobster pot buoys out of Maine white cedar – just like Maine lobstermen used to use before using Styrofoam today.

Each buoy starts as a 6 or 8 foot cedar pole. It is then cut into “blanks” (8 and 12 inch lengths) and allowed to dry for a couple of weeks. They are then cut into the buoy shape and allowed to dry a bit longer. A wood tail is then inserted in the butt of the buoy. The buoy is then sanded, primed and sanded again. It is now ready to design and paint.

We make buoys as well as centerpieces (buoys without tails so they sit flat). All products are available with either a gloss finish or stressed to look old and used. They are all available with either a 100% leather strap or a hole drilled with rope.

We are also able to customize your buoy. With our new vinyl cutter, we are able to put just about anything on your buoys. Letters, numbers, shapes, designs or anything you can think of (within reason of course).

Custom orders are always welcomed. Just let us know what you are looking for and we will see what we can do.

Maine Wooden Buoys can be found at a wide variety of retailers and on-line stores. A complete list can be found on our website, WWW.Mainewoodenbuoys.com.

We have a wide variety of colors available – several shades of blues, reds, greens, yellows – just about any color under the rainbow.

Let’s see what your imagination can do!!!

Maine Shellware LLC

ss

Welcome to Maine Shellware! We are Maine’s original company that utilizes reclaimed lobster, mussel, & clam shells to create one-of-a-kind and notable jewelry and home goods. We also incorporate abalone and mother of pearl shells in some of our jewelry line as well. We source our shells from local restaurants and seafood processing plants, which in turns keeps them from going into landfills or back into the ocean. Artisans Amy Douglass & Nicole Klam hand lay all of our shells, ensuring that each piece is unique. We love what we do and we hope you’ll enjoy your little piece of Maine!
