Overview

I grew up Downeast and studied chemical engineering at the University of Maine and business at Thomas College. I worked for Maine DEP and the forest products industry. I have been knitting and crocheting since I was a kid – it was just a matter of time before I applied chemistry to my hobby and started dyeing yarn and fiber. I LOVE going down the rabbit hole of themes! I am currently a vendor for Sock Week 2025 (an online event), and I designed a project bag to go with this year’s Ice Cream Social theme. I will soon be dyeing yarn again and offering curated collections of fiber arts bags. Much like chemical engineering, I love the process of considering an outcome and available materials and finding a way to utilize those resources to meet a need. Adding hardware to my bags is one example of this; planning a yarn colorway and which dyeing techniques will give just the right results is another. My drive is to bring increased functionality, aesthetics and creative inspiration to other makers’ projects.
