Overview
I have always been a creator from the time I could walk and talk to now, and I don’t see that changing in this lifetime. As a kid I used to create all kind of of concoctions using wild harvested strawberries and take home hotel lotions to DIY facemasks with bananas and honey. My first peak into soap making was actually in my college Chem class – which was my favorite by the way. Many of us love to create and but there’s always something that sparks the fire to go from hobbyist to business owner and for me it was the combination of 2 things. The first was that I have always prioritized sustainable living and was already well on my way into my zero-waste journey prior to Spriggits coming to be. The second was the real push I needed to actually start. My dad received a cancer diagnosis right around the same time COVID was ramping up. The world was a wild place then and we were all doing our best to navigate the changes but I also had to navigate becoming a primary care taker and medical decision maker for literal life and death choices all while working full time and just trying to learn how this adulting thing works. It was on a number of hospice chats or calls between appointments that my dad had kept asking when I was going to move up to management positions and so forth. Once he passed I realized there wasn’t really a management position I was going to be happy with because I wanted to be at the top. I wanted to be the leader of my own company and have the ability to really put my thoughts and visions into fruition. I took my passion for sustainable living, my love for creating, my chemistry lessons on soap making and I ran with it. It’s taken years of trial and error with hands on experimentation and continuous research but I have formulated products that both I and my customers absolutely love. Spriggits is something that challenged me daily in the best ways possible I am beyond proud of and I know my dad would be too.
