I started out as a quilter 22 years ago when my daughter was a baby. At that time we were living in Casco, ME. I started out making table runners, wall hangings, sweatshirts , etc.. I would do little scenes which I designed myself. I realized that I didn’t enjoy the sewing machine part of it. I started putting my designs on cards instead. I started selling my cards to local gift shops. When my daughter was 9 we moved down to South Carolina for about 7 years. While we were there we spent six months in Florence, Italy. Some of my current pictures include some scenes of the Tuscan country side. When we were in South Carolina I expanded my designs and started making bigger, more intricate scenes, which I started matting and framing. Every summer we would come to Maine to visit my parents and I would do the Bridgton Art in the Park show. About six years ago we moved to Brunswick, Maine. My daughter was in high school about to head to college and it gave me the time to build my business into what it is today. I expanded my product line and quit my part time job a couple of years ago and now work full time for myself. What I am currently doing is fairly unique. It isn’t a hard concept, I use heatbond and pieces of fabric to create my pieces, but so far I haven’t seen anyone else doing the exact same thing.
