Overview

I am primarily a self taught metalsmith who started in my teens making seaglass & beach stone jewelry as well as beading. I have taken various classes, but have honed and developed my own set of unique skills by using traditonal techniques. I have lived a creative life and always have looked to grow as an aritst and maker. My inspiration is drawn from the place I live and love, the coast of Maine and Montsweag Bay. Large piles of Maine beach stones that I have collected over the years as well as the sand patterns on the beach as I reach for just the right stone. The way the water ripples when I paddle my kayak and the reflective colors of the bay on which I live. Natural markings on trees and leaves that impart an impression of texture in my memory inspire me to replicate these in my own expressive technique. It is along with a collection of unique and large gemstones that I can express myself in color and shapes while complimenting my work. I am always striving to create work that is rugged and expressive, a true reflection of my personality.
