Member Bio:
The Tea Ladies are Sarah Burrin & Jennifer Larrabee – two friends who were just a couple of stay-at-home mommies. They went to school, ran into each other at the store, and celebrated together at every valentine’s day party or Halloween party, or any other school party. They have two boys each, so four boys and two tea ladies spent summer days at any beach in Stonington. Only they were not tea ladies yet…

If you ask them, “where did the tea idea come from?” They will tell you they can’t really remember, but the idea developed over one summer when they realized that being mommies isn’t really a full time job; in fact if you are good at the job of being a mommy your goal is really to work yourself out of a job.
They realized, over Rosehip tea, that tea makes you feel good, it slows you down, and it is a joy to share with friends or drink in solitude. You are never really alone if you have your cup of tea.

Sarah grew up in Europe. She lived in a world where tea is part of your everyday life. She is married to a Brit, so Teatime is any time at her house. She is a creative free spirit who is also dedicated to a holistic approach to life.

Jennifer grew up in Stonington, and her family has been there for generations. She grew up in the world of entrepreneurial business – she is the girl who likes spreadsheets almost as much as she likes tea.
Both ladies share in being dedicated to their family, each other, and now to Tempest in a Teapot.

So two ladies met with their kids, they both loved
tea, and an idea was born out of the need to be identified as more than just mommies. They are still the laundry ladies, the soccer mommies, and the lunch ladies – but now they are the Tea Ladies as well. And that suits them just fine.
