"From Scratch" taste without all the work. Member Bio:
Established in 1992, The Winterport Company was owned and operated by Susan and Keith Bosley in their Winterport home. The company was born when the Bosley's took suggestions that some of their family recipes should be marketed. Starting with 3 spice blends, the Bosleys soon added cookie mixes to the product line. After 3 years of operation, they found they could no longer run the growing company as well as manage their full-time careers.
Barbra Van Uden purchased the company in May of 1995. The business operated from her Hampden residence until March of 1998, when the company outgrew the finished basement in which it was house. It was relocated to 40 Johnson Street in Bangor. The corporate name changed from the Winterport Company to the New England Cupboard effective September 1999. The name change was instituted to broaden the appeal to a more regional basis.
In December of 2000, Dianne Lovejoy and Debra Irish purchased the company. Our goal is to broaden the customer base to cover more of New England and expand nationally. Our growth has been such that after our first year of ownership, we had to relocate to a larger facility in Bangor on the Perry Road in February of 2002. We're trying to make an effort to do more shows and open houses so that we can meet our customers and have everyone taste our products Category:
