Visit Jody Johnstone’s outdoor display of her most recent kiln firing and meet a few other craftspeople, youth entrepreneurs and musicians. This year she will be joined by Jackie Haines Jewelry with her handcrafted jewelry featuring stones and fine beadwork.
A little bit about the firing process: The kiln cools for one week, and the unloading day is always a highly anticipated event. My expectations and predictions are sometimes fulfilled, but sometimes wildly surpassed. The kiln holds about 800 pots, from large to small, made over a period of three to four months. Each pot is unique, telling its own story of where and how it was fired.
