I specialize painting on 1700 to 1800 century antique Maine roof slates. Truly unique art in every way. In the past several years, I've collected many slates all over the state of Maine. The weathered surface make a perfect canvas for my paintings. Only mother nature could create this ! When I am painting a slate I accentuate with the natural rock formation. This brings out the beauty of the slate.
